Don’t rely on the scale.

I keep seeing posts of people going day by day getting depressed because their weight doesn’t move or fluctuates so much when they weigh in.

First of all, try not to weigh yourself every day.  You’ll create a little doubt in your mind when you don’t see results from day one to day two and get discouraged and depressed.  You’re not supposed to see results from Day one to Day two anyway, so there’s no point.  

Secondly,  wouldn’t it be great if you weighed yourself on a one or two week interval and saw weight changes?

Besides that fact, please remember that if you’re LIFTING, muscles weigh MORE than fat.  I’ve been at a constant 193 lbs, give or take 1 lbs, for the past month and a half. I’m not getting discouraged, because I could see my body change in the mirror, and in the progress pictures that Ara and I take.  

I keep seeing posts on tumblr and MFP about how people are getting upset because their not losing weight from yesterday to today.  Change does not happen over night, change is slow, change is slowly progressing.

Also, if you’re being a cardio queen or cardio king, you’re going to stagnate.  Muscles help you burn more fat throughout the day.  It doesn’t matter if you lift light.  Lifting is good, and should be inclusive in your workout regime.  

Also, protein is an IMPORTANT part of losing weight as well.  It is an essential macronutrient for your body and should not be avoided.  And for the ladies out there, no, it’s not gonna make you be bulky and muscular.  It’s going to refuel your body after an intense workout.

If you’re not seeing change in your BODY and you’re guilty of being a cardio fanatic or avoiding protein like the plague, think about what I said and put it to work for a month or two.  I guarantee you’ll see better results by having a healthier lifestyle and building muscle, not ego.

Progress!

Hey guys, sorry we’ve been busy and haven’t been able to update as much. I have finals this coming week and Janten’s been swamped with school. Anyways, we were ecstatic about our recent results so I decided to take some time to show you guys how we look now!

Our current weights are:
Janten: 193 lbs
Ara: 132 lbs

I think we’ll be seeing our beach bodies soon enough. I’m so stoked!

Anyways, keep at it guys! The hard work really does pay off! :) 

The only clothes I buy now are workout clothes.

Sorry guys!

It’s been a while since we updated our measurements and progress pictures. We actually skipped this week’s due to our crazy schedules. Finals, papers, and other exams have been coming up and it’s been hard to find time to manage our tumblr. We promise to update more often when we get all of our school work out of the way. In the mean time, remember to eat healthy foods, push through hard workouts, and enjoy yourself once in a while! Oh and don’t forget to drink lots of water. :)
